What is A.D?

Audio description (A.D) is the audible delivery of visual information to increase access for a blind or visually impaired person.

A.D is used in many mediums including film, t.v, theatre, museums, art galleries, dance, circus and sporting events. It can be in person or pre-recorded. In theatres, the description is often delivered through headsets using infrared or radio waves. Some film and theatre productions have the audio description integrated into the performance, negating the need for headsets.

A.D can also be beneficial to those who use the service to aid focus, or to simply enhance their viewing experience.
